The 1756-LSP safety partner controller must be installed in the slot immediately to the right of the primary controller. The firmware major and minor revisions of the primary controller and 1756-LSP safety partner must match exactly to establish the control partnership required for safety.

Miscellaneous:	The GuardLogix system is a dual controller solution which requires 1756-L6xS primary controller and a 1756-LSP safety partner to achieve SIL 3/CAT. 4 and safety control. The 1756-LSP Safety Partner controller is required for each 1756 GuardLogix controller. The 1756-LSP must be installed in the slot immediately to the right of the primary controller. The firmware revisions of the primary controller and safety partner must match exactly to establish the control partnership required for safety applications.
